Coordinate and supervise research and development activities in the drone technology sector's communication, navigation, and electronics to ensure their effectiveness;
Apply theoretical knowledge to support internal development projects and provide research and development services to external companies;
Supervise the members of the drone technology unit in their research and development activities;
Get involved in global projects within the drone technology industry and help enable participation;
Contribute to formulating the strategy for the drone technology sector;
Able to use knowledge in the drone technology sector to promote education and learning;
Represent the ARC in industry associations.
PhD in natural sciences, engineering, or technical sciences;
Previous experience as a lead or senior researcher at a research institution is beneficial;
International experience, such as a PhD overseas or managing international cooperation projects;
Proficiency in team or project management, with a preference for experience in grant project management;
Knowledge of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems;
A minimum of 5 years of experience in research and development of communication and navigation electronics is preferred;
Proficient in analyzing and presenting research findings effectively.
Ability to write scientific articles and reports;
Independence, innovation, a solution-oriented mindset, and strong communication and negotiation skills;
Knowledge of research ethics and data protection;
Fluent in English at a C1 level; knowledge of Estonian is a plus;
Preferred international experience, network in the drone sector, and knowledge of drone-related regulations and standards;
Knowledge of drone construction, control, subsystems, and their integration is an advantage.
